Buddy Poppies: I suggest that we make and approve a motion to make the proper expenditures for next year's poppy order. Since the type of poppies is changing, having an approved motion will enable me to place our order once I'm certain of what we'll order, without having to wait for another meeting.
US Flag Retirement: I've been emptying the container outside the Train Station, and we have several hundred flags awaiting our next retirement ceremony. I brought several hundred to the county retirement program and will do the same for the next program.
Post Email: If we don't have your email address then you're missing out on some of the items that I occasionally forward during the month. Things like special events, invitations, Legislative Alerts/Calls to Action and various informational items related to such Veterans issues as job opportunities, medical alerts, etc. If you're not getting these please give me your email address. You can always delete items that you're not interested in, but if you don't receive timely info then you could miss out on something that in retrospect you might consider important. I repeat this item because it's relevant every month.
Membership: Please spread the word that we are looking for fellow comrades to share our legacy. This is a monthly topic.
Bits & Pieces: Nothing special that I can think of this month.....feel free to submit ideas to me.
Ongoing/Continuing Be Well/Get Well Wishes to: Paul Gutheil. Is there anyone else who I might have left out?
Happy Birthday (some are belated) to: Rich Berens. Kevin Finn, Kristin French, Tim Lorenz, Ted Maire, Pavel Mazurek, Mike Feeney, Bill Hunt (the older one), Jeff Mays, Carl Ostergaard, Bob Steinberg, Jay Waldman, Jonathon Algo, Clint Johnson, Dan Dour, Pat Azzolini (we miss your baking talents), Jamie Egan, Bob Howard, and Doug Neralich. If I left you out (Aug & Sept & Oct), please let me know.
The next District #2 meeting will be Oct 25th. Our next Post meeting be on Tues. Sept. 28th. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions/comments/suggestions/etc.
If I've left anything out, please contact me so I can fix my memory. Please stay well/safe/sane and as happy as possible during these unusual times. Music helps!
